This beginner tutorial covers Reactor face swapping in ComfyUI portable with the manager plugin installed. The speaker presents a single face reference image as a simpler approach to character consistency than training a face LoRA. The lesson focuses on setup and a basic image workflow, rather than testing consistency across many generations.

Installation starts in the portable root folder. The speaker checks the bundled Python version, which is 3.13 in this example, and downloads the matching InsightFace wheel. The supplied commands use InsightFace 0.7.3 for Windows AMD64, update pip, and install ONNX Runtime GPU. Reactor is then installed through the custom nodes manager. If the restart appears stuck, the speaker suggests closing ComfyUI and starting it again.

The workflow uses SD 1.5 CyberRealistic, which the speaker describes as friendly to low VRAM, with Euler sampling, 20 steps, and CFG 7. A Load Image node supplies the reference face to Reactor Fast Face Swap. VAE Decode supplies the generated image, and the swapped output connects to Save Image.

The speaker leaves the swap settings unchanged for the demonstration but explains face restoration for low resolution eyes and teeth. The lesson suggests lowering CodeFormer weight to 0.3 if a face looks too smooth or artificial, and leaving gender detection off unless selecting people by gender in a group image.
