This official CopilotKit overview introduces its frontend building blocks for developers who want an AI agent to interact with their application. It describes prebuilt chat components and a custom headless UI, along with broad model and agent-framework support. The video explains these capabilities without demonstrating each integration.
Generative UI can use predefined components, schemas emitted through A2UI, or interfaces generated through MCP apps. Frontend tools let agents update the application's UI. For sensitive actions such as payments or changes to customer records, CopilotKit can insert a checkpoint that shows the proposed action and waits for human approval. Shared state connects user edits and agent updates so the interface can reflect changes.
The headless approach covers forms, onboarding and checkout flows. The presenter attributes persistent threads, streaming across multiple devices and automatic reconnection to CopilotKit Enterprise Intelligence. AG-UI is described as the open protocol underneath these building blocks.
