OpenChamber is an open source interface built around OpenCode. This walkthrough covers installation and everyday use as a coding assistant, with a Windows x64 desktop demonstration. The presenter advises updating OpenCode from V1 to V2 before installing OpenChamber from its releases page, which also includes an Android APK.
Provider connections already configured in OpenCode appear in the interface. The settings tour covers default models, thinking modes, background operation and event notifications. The presenter explains that automatic permission decisions require a classification provider. Commands, MCP connections and skills have their own management sections.
Remote instances let users connect to an OpenChamber server from another device. The project workspace includes branch switching, Git changes, file viewing, a terminal and project notes. Chat statistics show token use, caching and elapsed time; separate mini-chat windows can stay above other applications.
Scheduled tasks let users choose a model, prompt and trigger time, provided the host computer stays on. The presenter reports roughly 1 GB of RAM use and a smoother Windows experience than Orka IDE, but these are observations from their setup. They also describe an optional session-warming setting that sends small background requests to keep conversations cached.
