Tuicr is the terminal code review tool at the center of this walkthrough. The presenter compares it with Hunk, praising Hunk's diff interface but saying it lacks the ability to submit review comments to GitHub. Tuicr supports Git, JJ and Mercurial, according to the introduction.
The tutorial covers installation, reviewing local changes and opening pull requests. It demonstrates typed comments, file-level notes, saved sessions and Markdown export. Reviewers can mark hunks as reviewed, select multiline ranges and switch between stacked and side-by-side diffs. GitHub submission uses an installed, authenticated gh CLI; the presenter also describes GitLab support through glab. In the GitHub test, comments appear on the PR, though the general file comment behaves differently from what the presenter expected.
The AI agent workflow uses Pi and Tuicr's bundled skill to read review sessions and add inline feedback. The first attempt lacks an active session and produces a local review instead of the expected comments. After an explicit request to create a session, Pi adds review comments. A later attempt to have Pi review the presenter's feedback does not work as planned.
The walkthrough also configures a gh-dash custom action to open Tuicr and shows config.toml options for themes, mouse input, diff layout and comment types. It demonstrates a coding assistant workflow, without establishing that the models run locally or offline.
