KanDev is a self-hosted workspace for developers managing AI coding tasks and reviewing the resulting changes. It organizes work on kanban boards and lets you define workflows with your own agent choices and review gates.

  • Mixed-agent pipelines: Assign different agents to planning, implementation and review, with support for Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode.
  • Parallel tasks: Keep concurrent work separate with Git worktrees, carry a task across multiple repositories and create subtasks that continue from a parent session.
  • Integrated review: Inspect Git changes alongside agent conversations, a code editor, terminal and browser preview, then open pull requests.
  • Task automation: Start tasks on schedules or through webhooks, and connect GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear, Sentry or Azure DevOps to bring issues and review activity into the workspace. Bitbucket support uses a plugin.

KanDev runs locally or on your own infrastructure. Agents can run as local processes, in Docker containers or Kubernetes, or on remote servers over SSH. The optional Sprites executor runs tasks in the sprites.dev cloud.

The project is open source under AGPL-3.0 and collects no telemetry. It can also host other agent CLIs in its terminal while keeping task tracking, worktrees and session management. You can export and import workflows between installations, and access a self-hosted workspace from a phone through Tailscale, Cloudflare Tunnel or a private VPN.
