PhotoPrism

PhotoPrism is a self-hosted photo and video library for people who want to organize personal media on their own hardware or server. Its AI recognizes faces and labels pictures by content and location, so finding a photo doesn't depend entirely on folders or tags you've added yourself. You browse and share the library through a web app.

Search filters can work together to narrow results by labels, location, color, resolution and image quality. That makes it useful for a large collection where you remember something about a picture but don't know its filename or date. PhotoPrism handles RAW images and different video formats, and plays Live Photos in albums, search results and slideshows.

The server runs through Docker on macOS, Linux or Windows, with deployment on your own hardware or in the cloud. Its browser interface works on phones, tablets and desktop computers and can sit on a device's home screen. In a self-hosted setup, you control the infrastructure holding your library. PhotoPrism says it doesn't sell your data or share it with Google, Amazon, Microsoft or Apple unless you deliberately upload files to those services.

It can combine metadata from Exif, XMP and sources such as Google Photos. Compatible apps such as PhotoSync can back up iOS and Android photos in the background. WebDAV access lets Windows Explorer and Apple's Finder open, edit and delete library files directly.
