Immich is a self-hosted photo and video library for people who want their pictures on their own server. Its mobile apps for iOS and Android back up photos and videos, while the web interface gives each user a place to browse and manage their collection. The project is open source under the GNU AGPL v3 license.
The mobile app can back up in the background or when opened, and users can choose which albums to include. Immich also checks for duplicate uploads. Photos and videos can be downloaded from the mobile app or web interface, and both support RAW files.
The library offers several ways to find an image later. Search covers metadata, recognized objects and faces, as well as CLIP-based search. Faces are grouped automatically. Users can inspect EXIF details and view location information on a map, giving them ways to sort through a collection beyond albums and dates.
Immich supports separate accounts for family members or other groups using the same server. They can build albums together, share an album or send a link, and partner sharing gives two people access to each other's collections. OAuth is available for sign-in, and user management is handled through the web interface.
