Text Generator is an MIT-licensed Obsidian plugin for generating ideas, titles, summaries, outlines and paragraphs using your notes as context. It supports local models as well as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Hugging Face.
Prompt settings control which material the plugin includes from your knowledge database. Its template engine lets you save prompts for recurring writing tasks, and community templates provide examples you can adapt. Frontmatter configuration supports different generation services.
The plugin runs inside Obsidian. Cloud providers process the prompts and note context sent to their services; choosing a local model backend gives you a separate deployment option.
