IntelliBar is an AI assistant for Mac that brings local models and cloud services into one desktop app. It's for people who want to write, proofread, or ask questions without switching between separate chat apps. Ollama support lets you run models locally and keep prompts away from remote providers.
The app also connects to cloud models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek through provider APIs. Chat history stays on your Mac. When you choose a remote model, IntelliBar sends prompts directly to that provider without routing them through an intermediary. Local storage doesn't make cloud conversations private from the provider: its data policies still apply. With local models, no data goes to an AI provider.
You can send one prompt to several models and compare their answers side by side, which helps when choosing a response for a writing task or checking how models differ. Prompt autocompletion reduces repeated typing, while saved custom instructions let you reuse requests such as a preferred language or response style. Voice input and read-aloud commands provide alternatives to typing and reading.
Keyboard shortcuts give you access to commands, and chat-history search helps you find earlier conversations.
