Tolaria
An offline Markdown knowledge base for macOS, Windows, and Linux that keeps notes in local files with Git history and supports external AI tooling.
Alternative to:

Tolaria is a desktop knowledge base for personal notes, company documentation, and assistant memory. It keeps your material in ordinary Markdown files that other editors and tools can read.
- Portable notes: Markdown and YAML frontmatter let you keep working with your files outside the app without an export step.
- Git history: Each vault is a Git repository, with version history and support for a Git remote of your choice.
- Note categories: Types help you find and organize notes without imposing required fields or schema validation.
- AI context: Use the knowledge base for company context or OpenClaw memory and procedures; a bundled MCP server connects it to external AI tooling.
The vault works fully offline without an account or cloud dependency. Tolaria is free and open source under AGPL-3.0, with desktop apps for macOS, Windows, and Linux. On Linux, the external AI tooling flow requires a system Node.js installation.
