The speaker compares three model combinations in his AI Software Factory after reporting that he reached Claude Code limits and nearly exhausted Codex usage before either subscription reset. His recommendation is to reserve stronger models for planning and review, then give a cheaper model the implementation work.

The example is a multiplayer storm-chasing game set on Neptune. One build uses DeepSeek V4.1 Flash for planning and review with GLM 5.3 Flash writing the code. Another uses Claude Fable 5.1 throughout. His preferred combination pairs GPT-6 Astra with GLM 5.3 Flash. He judges that result smoother than the Claude build and reports roughly four times lower cost or token usage, though his wording does not clearly separate those measures. These are his assessments of proof-of-concept builds, rather than a controlled benchmark.

Archon, his open source harness builder, passes a GitHub issue through planning, implementation, review and fixes, with retry limits and a final build and test check. He accesses open models through Pi and Neon's AI Gateway; this is a hosted workflow rather than a demonstration of how to run models locally. Manual Markdown handoffs are another option. He also allows that difficult, unexplored work may warrant a stronger model throughout.
